Our Impact Programs
Yamba Hearts has supported me with school fees, materials, accommodation, and food, allowing me to study without worry. Their encouragement has strengthened my passion for running and built my confidence. With their help, I am preparing to complete secondary school and pursue my dream of becoming a doctor. I am also gaining computer skills from Mr. Ssegawa Charles. I am deeply grateful to the directors and the entire Yamba Hearts team for their care and support.
I have taught at Rise and Shine Junior School for over three years, focusing on English and sports. With Yamba Hearts’ support through supplies, meals, and activities, children are thriving in both learning and growth. The holistic approach, including women’s football, health, and skills training, creates a safe and motivating environment. Being part of Yamba Hearts goes beyond teaching; it is investing in the future of our community. I am proud to witness the transformation in many young lives.
Volunteering at Yamba Hearts in Uganda has been an enriching experience. Coming from the United Kingdom, I wanted to share my skills with the children. I have taught music, drawing, and computer skills, and their eagerness to learn has inspired me. I have also embraced Luganda, learning new words daily. My journey included attending a wedding in Bugiri, standing at the equator, and walking peacefully through Mpanga Forest. I am deeply grateful to Yamba Hearts for their warm welcome.
Receiving a microloan from Yamba Hearts transformed my life and my family’s. As a mother, I wanted to start a business but lacked capital. With the loan and training, I opened a retail shop near my home. I now manage my finances, provide food, pay school fees, and cover healthcare. Yamba Hearts also connected me to a women’s group that encourages saving and mutual support. I am grateful for this chance to become independent and hopeful for the future.
